EVENTS

STUDIO TIME - Held on   2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the Month,
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM at   the Boca Raton Community Center Silver Palm Room. It is also OK to just come and paint or draw with others, in this OPEN STUDIO format.   2011-20121 Dates

November 8, 2011 Janet Davis will be the first Studio Art Demonstrator  She will talk about, make rubber stamps and use them as a part of a painting.  If attending the session, please bring any rubber stamp materials that you may have as well as supplies to create a painting.  Stamping materials may be purchased at the paint-in.

November 22, 2011  A conversation with award winning FWS watercolorist, John Bowen.   He will talk about his career in commercial and fine art and about this time in the service as an illustrator.  He will also bring in the painting he is currently working on and explain his painting process. 

December 13, 2011 Lynn Stender- Popular Boca Raton Painter/Instructor Lynn Stender talks about her personal experience painting plein air at Giverny and  highlights from a tour she recently led to Provence, France.

December 27, 2011 Winslow Wedin- 25 year Member of the PBWS and Renaissance Man Winslow Wedin shares his art and esthetic philosophy with the group. It is bound to be interesting and very entertaining.

January 10, 2012 Framer Steven Winkler will be at Open Studio to explain the nuts & bolts of framing including differences of the glass that is available.  He has over 3000 different frames and has plastic for shows etc.

January 24, 2012 Donna Walshloves Science & Art and will be sharing how the artist can utilize the science of vision and contemporary pigment chemistry to enhance their art creation process in water-media. Bring your paints as there will be exercises and challenges illustrating the concepts we discuss.     

February 14, 2012 Jane Bazinet will be the guest speaker at the Open Studio

February 28, 2012 Dona Nenner will be the guest speaker at the Open Studio.
