Founded in 1982, the Palm Beach Watercolor Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We promote excellence and education in all forms of water media.
Financial support depends on members’ dues, patrons and contributed awards.
The Society operates on a basis of volunteer effort and members are encouraged to assist with various projects
as well as serve or chair the committees that run them.
We welcome the public to attend our popular monthly demo-meetings for a $2.00 donation (third meeting you are asked to join)
on the second Thursday of the month, October through May, at the Boca Community Center, 150 Crawford Boulevard,
Boca Raton, Florida at 6:30 p.m. Included in our program are nationally known watercolorists demonstrating their
skills. The public is invited to attend our exhibits and educational programs.
The Society co-operates with city and county groups in various art projects, such as collecting new art supplies
for "The Very Special Arts Program". Two or more outstanding juried exhibitions are held annually, including the
Member's Showcase and the Annual Open Juried Exhibition (see listings of exhibitions on our
EVENTS page). Our members’ art is
also displayed in a program titled, "Art in Public Places".
A monthly newsletter is published, October through May, announcing exhibitions, calendar activities and membership news,
entry calls and other art news information, which may be viewed on our NEWSLETTER page.
Our website, www.pbwatercolor.org, contains comprehensive information about organization activities. Members are
offered the opportunity to add their work to our MEMBERS' GALLERY by obtaining their own
Gallery Page, which helps artists to achieve maximum exposure in the global marketplace.
A series of 3-Day workshops is offered, featuring national and international instructors (see
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE), who also give a demonstration
at our monthly General Membership Meetings. The public is invited to attend these meetings as part of
our Outreach Program. Check out our MEETINGS schedule on this website.
This year the Palm Beach Watercolor Society has contributed funds to several local grade schools to help with
their art program. Our School Funding Program will assist art departments with the cuts made by the
school systems.
Bi-monthly "Paint-In" and "Paint-Out" groups are offered to members and
non-members alike. See listings on our COMMUNITY ACTIVITY page.
